The Gerald M. Crane Memorial Music Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 by caring people who wish to honor Mr. Crane's devotion to the musical arts and his commitment to music education. The scholarships provide high school music students in the West Michigan area with a cash award ranging from to further pursue their musical endeavors. Applicants may seek a scholarship for a variety of purposes which may include, but are not limited to formal music training, seminars, workshops, summer enrichment programs, music lessons, music concerts, musical instrument(s), music books, and any kind of musical material or a combination of things. The scholarship is not intended for college expenses.
Eligibility:
-Be a high school student or have the equivalent of a 9th-12th grade education and have not yet graduated
-Be a resident of Kent or Ottawa counties in Michigan
-Submit two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a music teacher
-Submit a brief essay (not to exceed one double-spaced, typewritten page) indicating your reasons for applying for
the award
