Yes, I have applied. Why? Well I believe Violence and fighting are two different things. Fighting is a boxing match, fair rules, fair game. Violence on the other hand is not pretty and is called upon when you call the police or any type of law enforcement. This is why pacifism makes no sense to me, as when you call the police you are requesting violence to be used for your safety. This related back to the second amendment as we live in the U.S.A, we have to be realistic, there are more guns than people, simple banning guns wouldn't solve anything. Not to mention you lose a huge chunk of your economy, we are already in a recession so that would be even worse. Millions of people already have guns "illegally," you would be putting your citizens at an disadvantage. Yes, background checks can be more harsh, the gun use all comes down to who uses it, and as a realist, I realized long ago there's more good than evil in this world. This is why I applied and will passionately fight for this amendment that will actually affect me if banned or (still) approved.

I believe this scholarship can inform students and motivate them to do research on the 2nd amendment. I fell like even though its $1000 dollars, we need to apply because we could use this for college books since they are a lot of money as well as other college expenses.

This scholarship is a good opportunity to share and exchange thoughts and opinions, it is an open space for free speech, and for a constructive debate between us the future generation. The purpose is not only to get the money but is about expressing our opinions.

The second amendment is the only thing keeping the left from taking away all of our freedoms and rights. we need to be able to protect ourselves. I hope there isn't a bias on this because I'm going to enter and express why this amendment is so important.
