  • MAN is an acronym which stands for "Minority Athletes Networking etc. Inc." MAN is a non-profit organization founded in April 1989 by former New York Football Giants George Martin, Ron Johnson, and Terrence Jackson. MAN is a unique conglomerate of former professional athletes, corporate executives, attorneys, entrepreneurs and performing artists with a deep abiding social commitment.

    Committed to "Making A Difference" in the lives of American youth, MAN achieves its mission by networking, coalition building and developing corporate and community partnerships. Actively integrated at the "grass roots" of our nation, MAN seeks creative and meaningful ways to heighten the conscience of American society to the plight of today's youth.

    Promoting scholarship and mentorship of youth in urban America; the thrust of MAN's community service activities strive to improve the total quality of life for America's youth. We challenge today's youth, and say to them that through persistence, hard work, and commitment there is hope, joy, and success along the road of life.

    Eligibility:
    -B or C grade point average
    -High SAT scores but low GPA
    -Athletes and/or students looking to go into a technical/medical area
    -Single parent or at risk family
    -Active or extensive work, community and/or athletic experience
    -High propensity for corporate and/or community leadership/ service
    -Low-income family
    -Graduating high school senior or freshman in college
    -Must demonstrate financial need

    Applicants are required to write an essay on the impact "The Jerry Fuchs/MAN-Etc. Inc. "Making A Difference" scholarship will have on their life.
