  • Scholarship Description
  • For half a century, UC San Diego Extension has been a catalyst for change, offering cutting-edge training and education in a variety of ever-evolving fields. To celebrate its 50th Anniversary, Extension is continuing this forward-looking mission by helping people prepare for the next 50 years with the Next 50 Scholarship.

    Eligibility:
    -Secondary degree recipients
    -Meet minimum program requirements of our existing programs
    -High school graduate or equivalent (GED)

    Be sure to include your intended study area in your application. We encourage you to share your story and why you think a UC San Diego Extension certificate can help you achieve your goals. Tell us how this scholarship will help get you ready for the next step in your career.

    Conditions of Acceptance:
    -Maintain a GPA of 2.75
    -Agree to use of profile and photo for marketing purposes
    -Agree to use of Next 50 essay on website, blog, and other marketing material
    -Complete program within 5 years
    -Non-transferable
    -No refund for any balance remaining
    -Does not include books or service related fees

Graduate Students' "Fight for $15"

Graduate student assistants across the nation are pushing for a $15 per hour stipend, which they believe is a "minimum living wage." Graduate students have attributed the 29 percent stipend increase at Emory University to their successful campus advocacy. [...]
