  • Scholarship Description
  • The Chicago Police and Firefighter Training Academy (CPFTA) awards a two-year scholarship for cadets of the four-year program (two years in high school and two in college). Students must meet or exceed the following requirements to be eligible:

    -A 3.0 (B) average upon completing the two-year high school component
    -A 90% attendance rate throughout the high school component
    -No Driving suspensions or revocations
    -Drug screening

    Submission materials:
    -Two letters of recommendation (one from a school official, one from a community leader)
    -Current physical (must be from within the last 12 months)
    -Copy of student's driver's license or state identification card
    -Copy of high school transcript for GPA and attendance verification

    Meeting or exceeding these requirements will guarantee a scholarship to attend one of many City Colleges of Chicago.
