  • Scholarship Description
  • The Dallas Foundation manages a number of scholarships for students with diverse interests. The Hirsch Family Scholarship was established as a scholarship fund in 2009. It currently benefits dependent children of active employees of Eagle Materials, Highlander Partners, Ascend, Lund, Juice Tyme, Profile Custom Extrusions, Versatex, Trimboard, or any of their majority-owned subsidiaries.

    Applicants must:
    -Be the dependent child of an active employee of Eagle Materials, Highlander Partners, Ascend, Lund, Juice Tyme, Profile Custom Extrusions, Versatex, Trimboard, or any of their majorly-owned subsidiaries
    -Be a graduating high school senior who has been accepted in, or already enrolled in, an accredited undergraduate program of study in pursuit of a degree from a public or private regionally accredited community college, college, university, or vocational/trade institute
    -Have a proven record of academic performances, as evidences by GPA or class rank
    -Be able to demonstrate financial need

    Renewals are not automatic, but past recipients are encouraged to reapply each year.

Graduate student assistants across the nation are pushing for a $15 per hour stipend, which they believe is a "minimum living wage." Graduate students have attributed the 29 percent stipend increase at Emory University to their successful campus advocacy. [...]
