  • Scholarship Description
  • This scholarship is intended to continue the Idaho Chapter's legacy of fostering the development of fish and aquatic professionals and is awarded annually to an Idaho High School Senior who is planning to attend any college or university in Idaho. This scholarship is funded by the Idaho Chapter.

    The scholarship is open to students that are:
    -Seniors enrolled in an Idaho high school
    -Have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0
    -Plan to attend a college or university located in Idaho (see also Verification section below)
    -Have professional goals that support the mission of the American Fisheries Society

    Selection Criteria (not in order of relevance):
    -Professional goals
    -Course work completed
    -GPA
    -Letter of recommendation from a science teacher

A controversial immigration debate was canceled this week by a student group at The University of Chicago - a university which "prides itself on protecting free speech, even offensive speech." The Edmund Burke Society, a conservative parliamentary debating society, canceled the debate, claiming it "could not assure an orderly event," particularly following the uproar over how the group had described the event.
