  • Scholarship Description
  • The purpose of the Governor’s "Best and Brightest" Scholarship is to provide Montana residents with greater access to Montana’s post-secondary institutions and Montana’s tribal colleges, through scholarship grants based on academic achievement and financial need. The goal of these scholarships is to relieve student debt burdens, allowing more Montanans to stay in the state upon graduation.

    Eligibility:
    -Must be a graduate from a high school accredited by the Montana Board of Public Education
    -Is a resident of the State of Montana
    -Must be accepted by an eligible Montana campus
    -Must take the ACT/SAT by December 31st of the student’s senior year
    -Minimum 3.0 GPA (calculated as of 7th semester) OR a minimum ACT score of 20/SAT score of 1440
    -Scholarship must be used starting the next academic semester(excluding summer)
    -Male applicants must meet the Title IV selective service requirements
    -Cannot be incarcerated
    -Must be seeking a first certificate, or 2 or 4-year degree
    -Students cannot use a MUS Honor Scholarship for the same period of enrollment
