  • Scholarship Description
  • The Ray S. Church Memorial Scholarship was created in May 2006 with gifts from family and friends in memory of Ray S. Church. The non-renewable scholarship will be awarded annually to a worthy graduating high school senior from Elkin High School who will attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution seeking a two or four-year degree. Scholarships will be applied to cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, and room and board.

    To receive consideration, applicants must:
    -Be a graduating high school senior from Elkin High School
    -Demonstrate strong character
    -Demonstrate dedication to academics
    -Achieve a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 through the first semester of 12th grade
    -Demonstrate financial need, but not restricted to lower incomes (financial need will be taken into consideration; however, the scholarship is not restricted to lower incomes)
