Direct Service Grants provide financial assistance to students with respiratory ailments and are intending to help complete their education and become self-sustaining, independent members of the community. Grants are available to any student with a pulmonary problem who lives or goes to school in the greater New York City area (within a 50-mile radius), is at least 16 years old, can demonstrate financial need, and otherwise meet Stony Wold's qualifications. Individual grants are awarded for a maximum of four years to approximately 25 to 30 students enrolled in either academic or technical training programs.
There is no application form for a Direct Service Grant, but we do need the following information before an interview can be arranged:
-A brief medical profile, provided by your doctor
-Proof of residence
-A W-2 form (from whoever supports you)
-A school transcript
-A letter of recommendation
-A brief personal history
