  • Scholarship Description
  • The Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation (WRA EF) welcomes your application for a culinary and/or hospitality scholarship. WRA EF Endowed Scholarships will be awarded in amounts of $4,000 for the upcoming academic year. For full details, eligibility and to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.

    Eligibility:
    -Must be enrolled in an accredited culinary or hospitality program or a culinary apprenticeship program for the upcoming academic year. Show proof with an acceptance letter
    -Must be enrolled full-time or part-time (at a minimum of 6 credits)
    -Must inform WRA EF of any phone number and address changes during the scholarship year

    Submission Materials:
    -Student scholarship application
    -Official transcripts from the most current year of school only
    -Letter of Recommendation (it is preferred, but not required, that the letter of recommendation be from an employer or foodservice instructor you have worked with in the past year)

Student Sends Flirtatious, Then Menacing Emails to Professor

A professor at the University of California at Santa Cruz believed she was "unstalkable" up until a student of hers began sending messages that were at first flirtatious and ultimately turned to threats of rape and murder. Much of the #MeToo conversation in higher education revolves around educators who "harass" or "target" students; but some educators themselves actually become vulnerable to harassment by their own students and remain silent out of a sense of guilt, embarrassment, and often the fear of losing their jobs.
