  • The Urban League of Nebraska Scholarship is awarded to assist graduating high school seniors in pursuit of post-secondary education.

    Eligibility:
    -Be a current resident of Nebraska
    -Have a current cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher
    -Have completed at least 10 hours of documented community involvement
    -Have taken the SAT or ACT

Arizona Appeals Court Overturns In-State Tuition for DACA Students

The Arizona Court of Appeals overturned a 2015 ruling that allowed undocumented students who were granted deferred deportation to pay lower in-state college tuition. The 2015 lower court ruling maintained that, under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, students who came to the U.S. illegally as children were considered lawfully present and therefore eligible for state benefits. POTUS Donald Trump is pushing for apprenticeship programs and intends to support the initiative with an apprenticeship grant program of up to $200 million, with special emphasis on industries such as information technology, healthcare, and manufacturing. The college alternative initiative hopes to attract and prepare students for "great careers that do not require a four-year degree or the massive debt that often comes with those four-year degrees and even two-year degrees."
