Scholarship Description

The Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives offers the Albert W. Dent and Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarships to support students in their final year of a healthcare management graduate program. These scholarships help offset tuition costs, student loans, and other academic expenses.

Scholarship Details

  • Scholarship amount: $5,000
  • Up to 15 scholarships awarded annually
  • Open to students entering their final year of a healthcare management graduate program

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a full-time student in an MHA, MPH, MBA in Healthcare Administration, or similar program
  • Must be entering the final year of study and expect to graduate between Sept. 1st, and Aug. 31st of the academic year following the award
  • Residency students in their second year of study may apply
  • Doctoral students and individuals in the residency portion of their program are not eligible
  • Applicants holding a paid healthcare management position are ineligible
  • U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and Canadian citizens may apply
  • Preference given to Student Associates of ACHE
  • Must demonstrate financial need

Application Process

  1. Complete the online application between Jan. 2 and March 31, 2025
  2. Submit a current resume or curriculum vitae
  3. Provide official undergraduate and graduate transcripts
  4. Include three letters of recommendation (one must be from the graduate program director)
  5. Write an application essay addressing:
    • Reason for pursuing a career in healthcare management
    • Career aspirations and goals
    • History in the field
    • Financial need
    • Community and civic engagement
