The Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives offers the Albert W. Dent and Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarships to support students in their final year of a healthcare management graduate program. These scholarships help offset tuition costs, student loans, and other academic expenses.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarship amount: $5,000
- Up to 15 scholarships awarded annually
- Open to students entering their final year of a healthcare management graduate program
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a full-time student in an MHA, MPH, MBA in Healthcare Administration, or similar program
- Must be entering the final year of study and expect to graduate between Sept. 1st, and Aug. 31st of the academic year following the award
- Residency students in their second year of study may apply
- Doctoral students and individuals in the residency portion of their program are not eligible
- Applicants holding a paid healthcare management position are ineligible
- U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and Canadian citizens may apply
- Preference given to Student Associates of ACHE
- Must demonstrate financial need
Application Process
- Complete the online application between Jan. 2 and March 31, 2025
- Submit a current resume or curriculum vitae
- Provide official undergraduate and graduate transcripts
- Include three letters of recommendation (one must be from the graduate program director)
- Write an application essay addressing:
- Reason for pursuing a career in healthcare management
- Career aspirations and goals
- History in the field
- Financial need
- Community and civic engagement
