Scholarship Details
- Up to $20,000 multiyear scholarship for eligible architecture students
- Supports students enrolled in NAAB-accredited architecture programs
- Opportunity to join a network of alumni, mentors, and scholars
- Renewable for up to 5 years (total award up to $20,000)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Open to high school students planning to enroll in a NAAB-accredited architecture program
- Eligible to rising second-year college students in NAAB-accredited programs
- Available to technical or community college students who plan to transfer to a NAAB-accredited program
- NAAB-accredited programs include five-year Bachelor of Architecture degrees or pre-professional bachelor’s followed by a Master of Architecture
Application Process
- Complete the Diversity Advancement Scholarship application on the Architects Foundation website
- Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
- Submit academic transcripts and proof of enrollment or intent to enroll in a NAAB-accredited program
- Include a personal statement on your commitment to architecture and the value of diversity in the profession
The Diversity Advancement Scholarship was created in 1970 with an initial grant from the Ford Foundation, after civil rights leader Whitney Young Jr. challenged architects in 1968 to create a more responsible and equitable field.
