  • Scholarship Description
  • The Hispanic Organization for Public Employees is pleased to offer the following scholarship for one U.S. Military Veteran attending any college or university in Texas.

    Eligibility:
    -Currently attending an accredited university, public or private college in the state of Texas
    -Is involved in community service
    -Is of Hispanic descent
    -Is able to attend Adelante's Annual Leadership Institute in San Antonio, Texas in (October 25-28) if awarded a scholarship (trip to San Antonio is paid for by Adelante).
    -Is able to attend the HOPE Hispanic Heritage Banquet
    -Can provide a color head shot of self (min size 4x6)
    -Can provide one letter of recommendation
    -Has a 2.75 or greater GPA
    -Will maintain full-time enrollment status (12 hours) for the duration of the scholarship period

Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct after he grabbed a woman who had swiped his notes off his lectern.
