  • RJT Criminal Defense is offering two educational scholarships annually to United States veterans with PTSD. Each of the scholarships is in the amount of $1,000, the funds to be paid for tuition for secondary education, college (or community college), or trade school. Applicants need not currently be students in order to qualify for an award. Within one year from the date of their award, the winners must provide RJT Criminal Defense with a tuition invoice from the educational institution, and a $1,000 check for will be issued to the institution at that time.

    Qualifications for the Scholarships

    The program is open to veterans of the United States Armed Forces who have been diagnosed with PTSD.

    Your completed application (along with uploads/attachments) must be received by us on or before November 14th.

    Applicants must submit:

    - A brief statement (no more than 100 words) on your educational plans.
    - (Optional) An essay (must be original) of 650 to 1,000 words, on the subject of how PTSD has affected your life.

    We may also ask you for documentation of your status as a U.S. veteran, as well as proof that you have been diagnosed with PTSD.

    The Application Process

    Complete the online application (including all uploads), and indicate that you agree to the terms of the program.

    Consideration in the selection process will be given to the amount of activity which your application generates online. Statements and essays that attract and hold the attention of readers will likely lead to increased activity. The final decision will be made by Ryan J. Tegnelia at his sole discretion. The names of the winners will be announced on or before December 13th, with simultaneous notification to the winners by email.
