Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Scholarship

A $500 scholarship will be presented from the East Ohio Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry of East Ohio Conference. Any high school senior who is an active member in a United Methodist Church inside the boundaries of the East Ohio Conference is eligible to apply.


Applicants will be asked to write a story, essay, poem, etc. of 1,500 words or less on the following theme: "How is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Dream Kept Alive for You Today?" Entries will be judged on basis of creativity, content, originality, clarity, punctuation/grammar, and the author's awareness of Civil Rights issues.
