  • Scholarship Description
  • Students across the country are invited to enter the National Ag Day essay and video contest, sponsored by the Agriculture Council of America. This year’s theme is “Agriculture: Food for Life.” The Council’s objective is to celebrate agriculture and to help consumers better understand how farmers and the companies serving them produce abundant, healthy, nutritious, and safe food that nourishes our families and consumers around the world.     Essay contest rules: must contain 450 words or less and begin with a title page containing: official topic, "Agriculture: Food for Life." A bibliography and footnotes will be required for citation. More details apply.

    Video contest rules: must address the official topic "Agriculture: Food for Life." The file format of all uploaded videos must be .MP4 or .WMV. The maximum length of the video is two (2) minutes. More details apply.

    Eligibility:
    -Open to students in grades 9-12
    -Contestants must be a U.S. citizen and attending school in the U.S
    -Contestants are eligible for only one written essay entry during any given year
    -Contestants are eligible for only one video essay entry during any given year

A gun-toting Tennessee college senior showed her support for President Trump and guns while holding her shirt up to reveal her handgun in her graduation photos to "show who [she is] as a person." The photo, which went viral on Twitter, gained both positive and negative feedback - some of which claimed she was "brandishing a firearm for a photo shoot or showing it off to try and look cool."
