  • The Ancient Greeks believed in developing a sound mind and a sound body as the way to live a fulfilling life. SigEp adopted this philosophy with the Balanced Man Ideal and since 1990 has awarded the Balanced Man Scholarship to some of the best students coming to campus. The Balanced Man Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen at the University of Nebraska at Omaha who exhibit academic excellence, demonstrate leadership skills and commit to health and well-being.

    Each fall semester, four men are awarded a scholarship respectively based on their balanced lifestyle of:
    -Academics: GPA and ACT
    -Character: attitude, discipline, and self-motivation
    -Community involvement: high school and college involvement
