The AAUW Elmhurst Area Branch NFP is offering grants to local women who need financial assistance to continue their education at the undergraduate or graduate level. An applicant may be studying full or part time and must meet the following criteria: be a resident of Elmhurst, Addison, Bensenville, Berkeley, Northlake, Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, or Villa Park; be continuing education after completing at least 12 credit hours at an accredited community or undergraduate college/university; and be at least 25 or older.
In addition to completing the application, applicants must also submit: a resume (including post-secondary schools attended and anticipated graduation date); an official letter of acceptance from the college or university to be attended; a letter of recommendation from a professional source detailing the applicant’s qualifications and character (from a faculty member, employer, colleagues, minister, or other associate); a transcript; and a personal background and goals essay.
