The High Technology Scholars Program offers a $500 scholarship to West Virginia high school seniors who plan on majoring in a technology-related field at a West Virginia University or college. The student applying must be from Barbour, Brooke, Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Grant, Hancock, Harrison, Marion, Marshall, Mineral, Monongalia, Ohio, Pleasants, Preston, Ritchie, Taylor, Tucker, Tyler, Wetzel, or Wood county in West Virginia.
In order to support students pursuing a technology-related education, the ultimate goal of the High Technology Scholarship is to offer incentives that encourage students to work in West Virginia after obtaining a college education. Recipients of the High Technology Scholarship will receive an initial $500 scholarship that will be made payable directly to the student’s college at the start of their freshman year.
