Good evening, My name is Armando Nunez, and I am looking forward to attending FSU. FSU has been in my radar for a while now. I am first generation college student. I was raised by a single Mom who worked very hard to provide me with what I needed. She was not able to attend college, but managed to get certified and became a medical coder. I would be honored if you choose me as one of the receivers of this amazing opportunity. thank you in advance, Armando Nunez

Good evening, My name is Saniyah K Mathis and I will be a first generation college student once accepted. I am originally from New Jersey and moved t Florida in 2007. Florida State was the first school that caught my interest when I entered junior high. Everything about the school caught my eye especially when I did the tour back in May. From the moment I stepped on the campus I knew this was where I wanted to call home for four years. The tour helped me realize that FSU is a family and where I can further my education to reach ultimate success.

To whom it may concern, I applied for this scholarship because this school is one of the few on my list to attend. If I attend FSU I will lead by example to my siblings and be the first in the family to graduate and excel after college

What may be less tangible is understanding how you and your family will pay for college. A new best-selling book aims to help untangle the process. [...]

More Schools Adopting Test-Optional Merit Aid

March 2, 2021

by Izzy Hall

Back in September, a few colleges who had already adopted a test-optional policy for the current admissions cycle announced that they would be awarding merit scholarships without the need for applicants to submit test scores. Since then, more and more colleges and universities have quietly adopted test-optional merit aid policies to complement their currently test-optional admissions. [...]

Avoid Student Debt at Colleges with No Student Loans

February 25, 2021

by Izzy Hall

Here at Scholarships.com, we connect students with scholarships that can help alleviate the amount of student loans they need to take out to pay for college. But there are colleges out there that offer students such generous financial aid packages that they need to take out very little in loans if at all. These “no student loans” colleges replace student loans in financial aid packages with additional scholarships and grants to help fund a student’s tuition. Students accepted into these schools will pay much less than the cost of tuition and thus will not be as burdened with student debt. [...]
