Scholarship Description
The Kenli Foundation is a non-profit organization which provides scholarship dollars to individuals pursuing secondary education beyond high school. The purpose of the foundation is to keep Kenli Parish Riney’s legacy and sparkle alive after her unexpected passing in 2021. Kenli had been accepted to Tarleton State University where she was delighted to start a new journey. Her motto of: “Be Kind; Share Christ” is the foundation’s mission.
Each year, the foundation hosts a variety of fund raisers including a golf tournament, apparel sales, individual donors, corporate donors, and other activities. Through the generosity of donors, the foundation has been successful in raising funds to grant scholarships.
Through the foundation’s website, candidates may personally apply or be nominated for a scholarship. Awards are given during the summer months. The Board of Directors reviews applications and scores each based on the following criteria: Performance of Heroic Acts ; Volunteer/Community Service Hours; Perpetual Activities for a Cause (fun run, golf tournament, festival, etc.); Sharing Christ
With generous donations last year, the Foundation awarded 3 one-time only higher education scholarships. As the Foundation grows, the value and length of scholarships will increase.
