The Distinguished young woman program is amazing. It is not just about money and the contest, it is about self-discovery, hope and joy. I participated and earned $2000 in cash scholarship money, but I also earned so much more. It was really hard to go there, but I changed because of it. We went to the Make-A-Wish princess party and I would trade anything in the world to do it again. There were other things we did, but that was what meant the most to me. Thank you all those who helped me be able top get to go and enjoy that week experience at state.

I actually participated in this program through the state of Florida. I made it to the state finals and won one of the preliminary interview awards and the prize was a $400 scholarship! Great program! Lots of fun! All girls should apply!!
