  • MILEMARK MEDIA LEGAL SCHOLARSHIP – 2020
    MileMark Media is offering an annual $1000 legal scholarship to incoming or current law school students. We are proud to support the legal community and excited for those entering the legal profession. Please see our criteria and requirements below.     How To Apply
    Please write a 500 word essay telling us why you have decided to enter the legal field. You may include the reasons you decided to go to law school, legal influences, current or life events contributing to your decision, etc. You may also include your future legal goals and/or where you see yourself as a lawyer down the road. Email your essay, transcript and proof of enrollment to scholarships{at}milemarkmedia.com.

    Criteria
    Legal US resident
    Enrollment in an accredited college or university in the U.S.
    Must be an incoming or current law school student
    Minimum of a 3.0 GPA
    Applications must be received by February 13, 2020
    Winner will be announced on February 20th, 2020
    Requirements
    Submit a copy of your transcript indicating your GPA and proof of enrollment

    You accept that your name and/or essay may be published on our website and social media if chosen as the recipient

Student Loan Debt Forgiveness for U.S. Military Veterans

The U.S. Department of Education plans to forgive $1.3 billion in outstanding student loan debt for roughly 25,000 disabled U.S. military veterans, beginning in July. Until now, the Department of Education had required veterans to formally apply for student loan forgiveness - having them complete "unnecessary paperwork to secure relief from their student loans, even after the Department of Veterans Affairs had found that a veteran met the legal requirements for disability-related loan forgiveness." In 2018, over 30,000 totally and permanently disabled veterans eligible for student loan forgiveness had not completed the necessary paperwork; a majority of which had defaulted on their student loans.
