If you're pursuing or thinking of pursuing a career in coding, you may be one of the 75,000 aspiring developers to land an Android Scholarship or Web Development Schoalrship, sponsored by Google and Udacity. Google and Udacity have been partnered over the past two years and doled 1,000 and 10,000 scholarships for coders in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
Google hopes to "close the growing digital skills gap and alleviate the European Union's concerns that half a million ICT openings will remain unfilled by 2020." Courses will focus on both Android and web development and the first batch of 60,000 scholarships are open for application but are only available to residents of Europe, Russia, Egypt, Israel, and Turkey. The remaining 15,000 scholarships will be offered by media giant Bertelsmann and will offer courses in data science at both the beginner and intermediate level.
