Gucci is releasing a new line of... diversity undergraduate scholarships for students who are "traditionally underrepresented in the fashion industry." The 1.5 million U.S. university college scholarship program is set to run for four years, targeting students who attend four-year universities. Special consideration will be given to those residing in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto and Washington, D.C and/or for those who plan to attend or are currently attending a Historically Black College and University (HBCU).

The Gucci Changemakers Scholarships Program is open to diverse graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled undergraduate students in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in fashion within North America. The award will be for up to $20,000 per year; eligible students may reapply each year. Gucci is also offering The Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholars by Design Scholarship, a four-year, $20,000 scholarship reserved for two diverse graduating high school seniors who intend on studying fashion design at an accredited four-year undergraduate college or university. Application deadlines are December 31. To apply for the The Gucci Changemakers Scholarships Program and/or The Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholars by Design Scholarship, click here.

In addition to its scholarship programs, Gucci announced The Gucci Changemakers Impact Fund - a $5 million grant fund with $1 million to be distributed per year over the next five years in support of 501(c)(3) non-profit community organizations that are focused on three areas of impact: social justice and equity; art and culture; and education, working in diverse communities in 12 cities across North America over the course of five years. The Changemakers programs will select nonprofit partner organizations in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, and Washington, DC and provide between $10,000-$50,000 in grant funds for a one-year funding cycle per winning organization. The grant application deadline is November 7. To apply for The Gucci Changemakers Impact Fund, please click here.

The Changemakers program initially began as means to allow employees up to four days to volunteer in community programs; it expanded this year following the uproar over an $890 sweater that resembled blackface. Gucci discontinued the garment and called the incident a "powerful learning moment."
