Today marks the 19th anniversary of the devastating September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States of America. We honor those who lost their lives in the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, as well as the first responders who gave their lives rescuing survivors, and the passengers of Flight 93 who thwarted the hijacker’s plans. The events of September 11, 2001 touched the lives of all Americans and redefined a generation. Now, even in the midst of another national crisis, we feel it is appropriate to take the time to remember this tragedy.

Both governmental and private organizations continue to support students affected by the September 11th attacks with scholarships towards higher education. Eligible students may consider applying to the following three scholarships:

Nineteen years later, most students starting college this year and virtually all high school students were born after the terrorist attacks on this day in 2001. Those of us who remember that day keep the memory of the victims and first responders alive by honoring the date and passing on our recollection of that fateful day in hopes nothing like it ever happens again.
