It’s February and we have a number of scholarships you can win this month that are based on your love for and performance of music of all kinds. Instrumental Scholarships, Vocal Scholarships, Theater Scholarships, to name just a few. Have you seen that Oscar-Nominated movie about Elvis Presley? Naturally, there are a number of related scholarships and one of them is listed below, worth up to $5,000 and due this Friday.

Tupelo Elvis Fan Club Scholarship
Amount: $5,000
Deadline: February 14th

The Tupelo Elvis Fan Club Scholarship is open to all graduating Mississippi high school seniors. You must be a resident of Mississippi and enrolled as a senior at a Mississippi high school and be graduating the year the scholarship is awarded. You must sing, dance, or play a musical instrument and submit a performance video for review by the selection committee by uploading to YouTube (do not mail in DVDs). If chosen as a semi-finalist you will be invited to perform live at the Finale to be held in Tupelo, MS in March or April.

John Lennon Scholarships
Amount: $20,000
Deadline: February 3rd

The John Lennon Scholarships are an annual competition open to student songwriters and composers of contemporary musical genres including alternative, pop, rock, indie, electronica, R&B, and experimental. Over the past twenty years, more than $400,000 in scholarships has been awarded to talented young musicians from colleges and universities throughout the United States, making this award one of the nation’s most esteemed accolades for emerging songwriters. Applicants must be current student or alumnus/alumna at a U.S. college or university between the ages of 17 and 24 as of the submission deadline.

Arts for Life! Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: February 6th

Arts for Life! annually awards $1,000 scholarships to 25 graduating high school seniors in Florida who demonstrate excellence in creative writing, dance, drama, music or visual art. Launched by former First Lady Columba Bush in 1999, the program has awarded scholarships to more than 575 gifted high school seniors. The application period is currently open until February 6th. The Arts for Life! Scholarship is for high school students who are graduating from a public, private, or virtual school or a home education program in Florida in the spring. A committee of judges for each of the five disciplines, comprised of respected experts, reviews and scores the students’ essays and work samples.

MPower Artist Grants
Amount: $10,000
Deadline: February 12th

MPower Artist Grants are competitive scholarships designed to empower alumni of the Sphinx Competition, Sphinx Symphony, Sphinx Virtuosi, Sphinx Performance Academy, Sphinx Medals of Excellence, Sphinx LEAD, EXIGENCE, NAAS, and SOPA to achieve their career objectives in classical music. Artist Grants will range based upon the scope, need and nature of each competitive application. Grants may begin at $1,000 with an average award amount of $10,000.

Davidson Fellows Scholarship
Amount: $50,000
Deadline: February 15th

The Davidson Fellows Scholarship awards scholarships to extraordinary young people, 18 and under, who have completed a significant piece of work. Application categories are Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Literature, Music, Philosophy and Outside the Box. Davidson Fellows are honored every year in Washington, D.C. with Congressional meetings and a special reception. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are 18 years old or younger. This scholarship is based on age, not grade level, so students of any grade who are 18 years of age and under are eligible to apply.
