The Alabama Teachers Credit Union (ATCU) awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors, college undergraduates and one award in memoriam of ATCU employee Leta Henson Johnson. Physical copies of required documentation will not be accepted at any ATCU office, rather, must be uploaded via our application portal between specified dates.
Eligibility
Criteria will differ sligtly between each scholarship, but all require at least a 2.0 GPA and an essay on a given prompt
- The Synced Scholarship
Applicants must be high school seniors and have an ATCU account that's been opened for at least six months prior to application.
- The Collegiate Scholarship
Applicants must be current undergraduates and have an ATCU account that's been opened for at least six months prior to application.
- The Leta Henson Johnson Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be high school seniors, demonstrate scholastic/financial need and plan to major in a business-related field.
Essays will be judged by a scholarship committee to be determined by the Credit Union. In the event of a tie, GPAs may be used to determine the winners. Scholarship Committee decisions are final. Graduate students, employees, Board and committee members of ATCU and their family members are not eligible.
