The American Nuclear Society Savannah River Section (ANS-SR) offers scholarships to qualifying current high school seniors and technical college students pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for the upcoming academic year. Applicants for the Benjamin Scholarship should be current high school seniors or first-year technical school students who are currently attending school in one of the counties in the Central Savannah River Area.
Apart from completing the application, applicants must also submit: a cover letter (including name, address, evening phone number, current school, home email address and name of college or technical school to which the Benjamin Memorial Scholarship would be applied. Also, at the end of the cover letter, add a one-sentence non-school related fun fact about themselves); a one-page essay ([300 word maximum] on why a career in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and educational is the goal of the student; transcripts and two recommendation letters.
