Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a current medical student (MD or DO), dental student (DDS), podiatry student, or enrolled in a U.S.-based residency/fellowship program
  • Must be a current 3rd or 4th-year student or current resident/fellow
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, O1, or H1B visa holder enrolled in medical school or a U.S.-based residency program

Application Process

  1. Submit a 500-word essay detailing how you have impacted the financial literacy of medical students and doctors
  2. Choose one of the essay topics:
    • Innovative Approaches to Financial Literacy: Share your unique ideas or current projects on improving financial literacy among medical students and doctors
    • Challenges and Solutions in Medical Financial Management: Outline common financial challenges faced by medical professionals and suggest practical solutions
    • Impact of Career Transitions on Financial Stability: Analyze how transitions such as MS to residency, residency to fellowship, fellowship to attending, subspecialty training, or geographic moves affect financial stability, and strategies to mitigate potential disruptions
    • Financial Wellness and Mental Health: Examine the relationship between financial wellness and mental health among training doctors, including strategies for promoting overall well-being
  3. For winners: Provide an up-to-date report card or unofficial transcript from medical school
  4. Proof of citizenship or residency program verification (letter/contract or paystub)
