The scholarship awards behavioral health students in their final years of their program that are completing an internship or practicum. Often, these placements are unpaid and the scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students so that they can complete their studies. The scholarship is open once per year and run by the WREDI Program.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75
- Open to undergraduate and graduate students
- Must be enrolled at a college or university for the current academic year
- Students must reside in Harris or Fort Bend County, Texas
- Declared major in Behavioral Health (including but not limited to: Psychology, Social Work, Addiction Studies, Mental Health Studies
Content Guidelines
- The most important thing to remember is to be original as you share your own story, thoughts, and ideas with us.
- Outline your short- and long-term career goals in behavioral health
- Discuss the impact you hope to make and the populations you want to serve
How to Apply
- Complete the online application form.
- Upload resume.
- Submit unofficial high school transcripts.
- Submit enrollment verification with declared behavioral health major.
- Provide one letter of recommendation from teacher, counselor or community leader.
- Upload the personal essay.
Selection Process
All applications will be reviewed by the NBHP Scholarship Committee. Finalists may be invited for an interview. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, commitment to behavioral health, leadership qualities, community service, financial need and the content of the personal essay.
