Scholarship Description

The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund provides financial support to high-achieving South Carolina students with demonstrated financial need. This college promise scholarship offers up to $40,000 in awards to every student who meets the eligibility criteria. There is no limit to the number of awards distributed each year, ensuring that all qualified students have access.

Scholarship Details

  • Up to $40,000 over 4 years for eligible South Carolina students.
  • Unlimited scholarships awarded each year.
  • For in-state colleges with a graduation rate of 50% or higher.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must reside in an eligible county in South Carolina.
  • Must graduate from a public high school in an eligible county.
  • Must qualify for the SC LIFE or Palmetto Fellows Scholarship.
  • Must complete the FAFSA and qualify for the Federal Pell Grant (any amount).
  • Must enroll in one of the eligible in-state colleges with a graduation rate of 50% or higher.

Application Process

A total of $4.1 million has been paid to students across South Carolina to date, with 46 percent of students having their bills fully covered. The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund is a college promise scholarship, meaning any student who meets its five qualifying criteria are guaranteed to receive up to $40,000. The money can be used for tuition, housing, food or fees.
