Scholarship Description

Each summer, the NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) brings together up to 40 high school students from across the U.S. for a fully funded week in Washington, D.C. This hands-on educational experience empowers students to deepen their understanding of American government, the Bill of Rights, and the U.S. Constitution while fostering leadership skills and a commitment to civic engagement. Students also have the chance to earn scholarships through various program awards.

Scholarship Details

  • Up to $40,000 in scholarships are awarded annually.
  • Scholarships are distributed at an end-of-week banquet and through Grand Scholarships for those who continue as NRA Ambassadors in their communities.
  • Over $700,000 in scholarships have been awarded since the program’s start in 1996.

Eligibility Criteria

  • High school students from across the United States.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement, leadership experience, and commitment to community service.
  • An interest in learning about and promoting civic engagement and the Second Amendment.

Application Process

  1. Complete the online application form by the specified deadline.
  2. Submit a high school transcript, a three-page essay on the Second Amendment, and a one-page personal statement.
  3. Provide three letters of recommendation supporting your leadership qualities and community involvement.
  4. Finalists will attend the Y.E.S. program in Washington, D.C., where scholarship recipients will be selected and announced at the end-of-week banquet.
