Each summer, the NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) brings together up to 40 high school students from across the U.S. for a fully funded week in Washington, D.C. This hands-on educational experience empowers students to deepen their understanding of American government, the Bill of Rights, and the U.S. Constitution while fostering leadership skills and a commitment to civic engagement. Students also have the chance to earn scholarships through various program awards.
Scholarship Details
- Up to $40,000 in scholarships are awarded annually.
- Scholarships are distributed at an end-of-week banquet and through Grand Scholarships for those who continue as NRA Ambassadors in their communities.
- Over $700,000 in scholarships have been awarded since the program’s start in 1996.
Eligibility Criteria
- High school students from across the United States.
- Demonstrated academic achievement, leadership experience, and commitment to community service.
- An interest in learning about and promoting civic engagement and the Second Amendment.
Application Process
- Complete the online application form by the specified deadline.
- Submit a high school transcript, a three-page essay on the Second Amendment, and a one-page personal statement.
- Provide three letters of recommendation supporting your leadership qualities and community involvement.
- Finalists will attend the Y.E.S. program in Washington, D.C., where scholarship recipients will be selected and announced at the end-of-week banquet.
