One in five people have learning and attention issues, including specific learning disabilities like dyslexia and/or attention issues like ADHD. These individuals are just as capable as their peers, but many struggle in school and beyond because they fail to get the support they need. We know that with the right support, they can thrive. NCLD works every day to make meaningful change for individuals with learning and attention issues. Throughout their generosity, NCLD offers a scholarship.
The Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship awarded over two years ($2,500 each year) to a graduating high school senior with a documented learning disability (LD) or related challenge who will enroll in a two-year community college, a vocational or technical training program, or a specialized program for students with LD and/or related in the fall. Applicants must submit documentation (an IEP, a 504 Plan, or a letter of diagnosis). Financial need is factored into the selection process.
