Scholarship Description

Presidential Scholars are selected from incoming freshmen with demonstrated outstanding academic performance. A UTA Presidential Scholar will receive a $10,000 award annually; up to $40,000 over four years of eligibility.

Scholarship Details

  • Awards up to $40,000 over four years
  • Includes non-resident waiver for out-of-state students
  • Eligibility for renewal requires students to maintain good academic standing

Eligibility Criteria

  • Incoming freshman with outstanding academic performance
  • Top 15% high school rank
  • Minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.9 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Minimum SAT score of 1400 or ACT score of 31
  • Holistic review considers high school rank, GPA, test scores, and course difficulty

Application Process

  1. Apply for admission to UTA and submit all required documents
  2. Submit SAT or ACT scores as part of the scholarship consideration process

Every incoming freshman will receive a holistic review by the Scholarship Committee of their academic record for scholarship consideration. A variety of factors are considered using a combination of academic qualifications such as high school rank, GPA, test scores and difficulty of high school courses.
