Scholarship Description

The SET Educational Fund provides an annual scholarship to individuals with financial need who have excelled scholastically while volunteering their time to help others. Students must be able to demonstrate financial need, provide a history of community service, prove residency in Michigan and enrollment at an accredited college/university in Michigan. This scholarship is only open to undergraduate students. Applicants must also submit: an essay; most recent 1040 tax forms for all parents (or personal 1040 if no longer a dependent); a letter from a non-relative stating community service performed by the applicant; a copy of a Michigan driver's license or state ID; and an acceptance letter or transcript.

The S.E.T. Educational Fund was founded in Michigan in 1998 in order to provide scholarships to Michigan residents attending Michigan colleges. We select community minded individuals that have excelled scholastically while volunteering their time to help others. It is our hope that this grass roots endeavor will entice our residents to stay in Michigan and to help others. Our winners boast a 90+% graduation rate and some of our early winners have now joined the ranks of our donors.
