Scholarship Description

Applicants of the Association of Information Technology Professionals Scholarship must be residents of the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle, be a high school senior or currently enrolled college student planning to attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University, have a cumulative GPA of 75 (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) for high school or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for existing college students, and major in computer information systems or computer science. Applicants must write a short essay describing previous experience and interest in the I.T. field. Dollar amounts will vary, and the deadline is the second Friday in March by 12:00 pm.

In addition to completing the application, applicants must also submit an official transcript, ACT/SAT scores, two letters of recommendation (one should be from a teacher, while the other should be from a pastor, employer, coach, mentor or other non-relative), a resume (no more than two pages) and an IRS tax form 1040. In place of the IRS Form 1040 you may upload a copy of your Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR) as long as you have not imported your financial information directly from the IRS.
