Scholarship Description

Lockheed Martin has established a scholarship program to provide opportunities to students studying select STEM degrees (see eligibility below) that demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. This year, up to 100 renewable scholarships of $10,000 each are offered for full-time study at an accredited U.S. institution of the student’s choice.

Scholarship Details

  • Award amount of $10,000, with up to 100 scholarships available this year
  • Scholarships are renewable for up to three additional years or until a bachelor's degree is earned, based on academic performance and continued enrollment in an eligible major
  • Designed for undergraduate study in specified STEM fields only

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Open to current high school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors with a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Must plan to enroll or be enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.
  • Must be majoring or planning to major in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Should be willing to consider a paid internship with Lockheed Martin (not required for scholarship receipt)

Application Process

  1. Submit a current, complete transcript of grades. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades, and credit hours for each course and term
  2. Include the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 for the Financial Information section
  3. Complete an application that includes a statement of educational and career goals, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, and any unusual personal or family circumstances
  4. Provide an online recommendation

Additional consideration will be given to first-generation college students and to applicants who self-identify as members of groups that are traditionally underrepresented in STEM careers
