Scholarship Description

Coast Guard Mutual Assistance has a long history of helping the men and women of the United States Coast Guard. Originally established as The League of Coast Guard Women, the organization was to “minister to the general welfare of the commissioned officers, warrant officers, enlisted men and civilian employees of the Coast Guard and their immediate families. During its 95 Years of Service, CGMA has been able to provide over $200,000,000 financial assistance to the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Coast Guard Mutual Assistance's Supplemental Education Grant (SEG) Program offers financial assistance by reimbursing certain costs associated with seeking a college degree, a Vocational and Technical Training (VoTech) certificate, or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), not otherwise covered by Coast Guard Tuition Assistance or similar programs. Costs that can be reimbursed are fees, books, study guides, supplies, equipment and other documented educational costs specifically required by a course of study. Tuition is not reimbursable.
