Scholarship Description

The Sue’s Hope Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded to a North Myrtle Beach High School or North Myrtle Beach Christian Academy Senior. To be eligible, applicants must: submit a transcript with a 2.5 GPA (this scholarship is not intended for the top performing academic student, but rather for the student who would be “left behind” because of finances, for not being the top performing academic student, or for some other obstacle); and demonstrate a history of community service, extracurricular activities and achievements. Applicants must also submit an essay (500-word maximum) that discusses their sense of hope and their potential to succeed.

The Waccamaw Community Foundation offers students many different scholarship opportunities. Through the generosity of our donors, we have awarded more than $24 million in grants since the Foundation was established in 1999. We aim to continue that legacy by helping donors of the Waccamaw Region connect with causes they care about. We serve people who share a common concern: improving quality of life in local counties.
