Scholarship Description

Orangewood Foundation’s Scholarship provides financial assistance to current and former Orange County, CA, foster youth engaging in the pursuit of higher education. Students may apply once a year until they obtain their Bachelor’s degree (if that is the goal) or until they reach max funding of $25,000 in total. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Not all applicants are eligible. Along with the Scholarship application, supporting documentation is required and eligibility will be verified.

Scholarship Details

  • Applicants can apply once a year with the goal of obtaining a Bachelor's degree or reaching a maximum funding amount of $25,000

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have been a dependent youth in Orange County, CA, after their 13th birthday
  • Students must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 and pass their courses with a grade of C or better

Application Process

  1. Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria as a current or former foster youth in Orange County, CA.
  2. Submit your scholarship application during one of the two application periods.
  3. After approval, complete a Midyear Update after the Fall term and an End of Year Update after the Spring term.
  4. If approved, you may receive multiple disbursements throughout the year.
