The University of California Berkeley Undergraduate Scholarship is the university's most historic scholarship program which recognizes the academic merits of undergraduates. New and continuing students who meet the criteria set by the Academic Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Honors and Financial Aid are awarded on the basis of both academic merit and financial need: California residents and AB540 eligible students entering from high school with a weighted 4.1 GPA; California residents and AB 540 eligible students entering from a community college entering students with an unweighted 3.5 GPA; or, continuing students with an unweighted 3.5 GPA. The amount of the scholarship award is based on your level of financial need, so dollar amounts will vary.
If you're a California resident not yet admitted to UC Berkeley: complete and submit the University of California Application for Freshman or Transfer Admission and Scholarships by the deadline; and, complete a FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application by the deadline. If you're a continuing UC Berkeley student, complete a FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application by the deadline each year.
