Scholarship Description

Since 1958, the Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation has provided financial assistance, quality programs, and other services for people across the state of Indiana facing the challenge of living with a neuromuscular disease. MDFF’s goal is to increase the quality of life for members of our community through advocacy, education, and by providing life-changing resources that support greater mobility and independence. Throughout their generosity, the Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation offers a scholarship.

The Andrew "Sparky" Seever Scholarship honors the vibrant spirit of our former board member, who lived with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Applicants must be diagnosed with muscular dystrophy or another neuromuscular disease, reside in the state of Indiana, and be high school graduates (or on track to graduate). Applicants enrolled in a two- or four-year post-high-school institution, tech or trade school, or accredited certificate program will be considered (as will applicants who are in a difference phase of life wanting to pursue other educational endeavors in order to increase their knowledge in a specific area). Decisions will be further based on: financial need, academic achievement, leadership, community involvement and other activities; and personal character.
