Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in scholarships. To be eligible for the Gary R. Bierlein Memorial Scholarship, applicants must: attend Saginaw Valley State University pursuing an undergraduate degree; reside in Bay, Midland or Saginaw counties; have involvement in community and school organizations; show leadership skills; have had an involvement in extracurricular/school activities; and have a 2.5 GPA.
