Launched in 2019, the Future Teacher Scholarship Program provides high school seniors and undergraduate recipients with an award of $1,500 per academic year. Scholarships may be renewed up to three times following the initial award, for a cumulative total of $6,000 per recipient.
Scholarship Details
- Annual award of $1,500 per academic year
- Renewable for up to three additional years (maximum total of $6,000)
- Membership benefits extend through one year after graduation and entry into the teaching profession
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
- Must be attending or accepted to a U.S. secondary or post-secondary institution
- Must be pursuing a degree leading to credentialing as a language educator
- Must have completed at least two years of study in the same language or submit valid language proficiency results from ACTFL or comparable assessments
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)

- Submit your academic transcript showing a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ensure your application is submitted by the published deadline
Teacher Scholars also receive complimentary ACTFL membership—which includes access to the ACTFL Mentoring Program aimed at early-career language educators—during their participation in the program as well as for one year following graduation and entry into the teaching field.
