Scholarship Description

The mission of HBCU Week is to encourage high-school aged youth to enroll into HBCU’s, provide scholarship dollars for matriculation and sustain a pipeline for employment from undergraduate school to corporate America. This scholarship is open to students entering an HBCU and working towards a bachelor’s degree. Applicants will have to provide proof of acceptance into a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) to qualify.

Scholarship Details

  • Financial assistance for tuition, room, and board at HBCUs
  • Supports the pipeline from undergraduate school to corporate America
  • Encourages high school students to enroll in HBCUs

Eligibility Criteria

  • U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • High school completion with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (unweighted)
  • Entering freshman year of college at an HBCU
  • Demonstration of financial need

Application Process

  1. Complete and submit the application by February 17th
  2. Provide your most recent high school transcript for verification
  3. Submit proof of acceptance at an HBCU by April 11th
  4. Disclose any potential conflict of interest prior to the selection process

Areas reviewed by the Selection Committee include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Academic accomplishments
  2. Financial Need
  3. Community involvement

Applicants must: Complete and submit application their application; Provide their most recent, verifiable high school transcript (Subject to authentication); Provide proof of acceptance at an Historically Black College or University (HBCU); Be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States; Complete or have completed high school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) and be entering their freshman year of college.
