Scholarship Description

The KLM Foundation’s Community Champions Scholarship supports minority students from underserved communities who are committed to a career in early childhood education. This $1,000 scholarship is open to high-achieving students with financial need who are attending or planning to attend a four-year college or university. The scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award.

Scholarship Details

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Education with an emphasis on early childhood education

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must reside in the United States
  • Must be a graduating high school senior or a first- or second-year student at a four-year college or university
  • Must be majoring in Education with an emphasis in early childhood education
  • Must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.8 or a college GPA of 3.5
  • Must demonstrate financial need and minority status

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application
  2. Submit an unofficial high school or college transcript
  3. If a high school student, provide a college acceptance letter and proof of commitment
  4. Write and submit an essay (up to 500 words) describing background, financial need, educational objectives, and career goals
  5. Application deadline is June 30
