Scholarship Description

The Bill of Rights Institute hosts the MyImpact Challenge civic engagement contest annually, offering up to $10,000 to winners.

Scholarship Details

  • Project-based
  • Past recipients may not re-enter (except Honorable Mentions recipients)
  • Five tiers of awards:

    • Grand Prize
    • First Prize
    • Second Prize
    • Third Prize
    • Honorable Mention

Eligibility Criteria

  • Middle school or high school student
  • Age 13-19
  • Projects must not be pre-completed before the application period begins

Application Process

  1. Establish an original civic engagement project
  2. Write an essay and project report in accordance with the Bill of Rights Institute's guidelines
  3. Gather the required documents along with a video or series of photographs representing your project
  4. Fill in any other requested information on the MyImpact Challenge portal
  5. Submit all materials and application in advance of the deadline

Though individual submissions are encouraged, groups of up to 5 students may enter as a team; if a team is chosen as a recipient, winnings funds will be distributed evenly amongst them.
